The end of the world as we know it
As the world, as we have known it, comes to and end, these are the most important skills you can develop.
Self Awareness
First and foremost, you must know yourself. You are nothing but a liability to yourself and everyone around you if you do not know who you are. We all have something valuable, unique to ourselves, to offer the world. If you do not know who you are, you do not know what gifts you have to share. If you do not know yourself, then you are primed to be manipulated by others. Without your own light to guide you, you will quickly become lost and be likely to bring others with you down a misguided path.
To know yourself, is hard work. Our society distracts you from pursuing the inner work needed to discover your power. This enables society to usurp your personal power and use it against you and others. To keep you enslaved to a system that does not serve you or the world.
You have to take the time, you have to do the work. Nobody can do this for you, there is no short cut. You will find guides throughout your journey that can help you, but you have to do the heavy lifting. Find out who you are, what is important to you, find your moral compass.
Develop your empathy. Before you act, ask yourself how you would feel were the situation reversed. Would you want to be treated in the manner in which you treat others?
Conversely, do not allow others to treat you in ways that you would not treat them. The best course of action for those being abused, is to walk away. Cut the abuser off, do not give them what they want.
Interpersonal Skills
Once you have intrapersonal communications, it is time to develop Interpersonal skills. To have the greatest impact we must work with others to achieve common goals. We are tribal animals, and can only thrive within our tribe. Most of us are without a tribe at this time. Without a tribe we are dependent upon the system for our survival.
To maintain the status quo, we must be stripped of our power in unity, as well as our personal power. To free ourselves, we must walk away from the abuse of the current system.
When you find your power, then you need to find your tribe. In order to find your tribe, you have to have keen senses to assess liars from truth speakers. You have to find people, whose truth resonates with your own, this is how you find a tribe.
You have to be able to determine who can be trusted. Which also means you have to trust in yourself. To take a Wetiko or a Wendigo into your tribe, is to risk injury or death to your tribe.
It is very easy to be sold a thing that one wishes to have. Bad actors know this and use it against you. If it is too good to be true, it almost certainly is not true. Be wary of those that would abuse you, do not allow it.
Bear in mind that there are those who have nothing to offer, those who are only capable of taking. You have to see them for who they are. You can not, nor should you try and change them, they are who they are. All you can do is see them for who they truly are, and act according to your nature.
Critical Thinking
If you are unable to think critically, then you are left with only emotion to rule your actions. Emotions are easily manipulated by bad actors. You are part of the problem if you can not determine truth from falsehood. You are of no help to your group, when you are swayed into destructive behaviors.
This is a time of triage, how can you determine what needs immediate action without critical thinking? Seek the truth and act accordingly.
Collaboration
You must be able to play nicely with others. This is vital for the vitality of your tribe. There is strength and safety in numbers, if you can collaborate.
You must speak your truth, and you must listen to others for collaboration to work. You must remember that you are now, part of something that is greater than yourself. Work synergistically with your tribe. Your work together will be far more than the sum of each individual’s part.
Consensus Decision Making
The natural human governance system is consensual. Our current system is based on violence, and we have to remember how to cooperate peacefully once more. Coercion, manipulation, deception, violence, are all methods of the failed system. There is only one way forward, and that is through persuasion.
You can not persuade without first knowing the truth. You can not persuade without knowing yourself. You can not persuade without empathy and understanding. You can not persuade without love.
Through their deeds you shall know them
With everything else in place, your tribe does what tribes do. Support each other, do the things that need to be done.
As a group, you will deliberate, you will decide what are the things that need to be done. As a group, you will willingly and lovingly get about to making these things happen. You will support one another. You will be there for each other. You will thrive or perish together. Such is the only way out of this for any of us.
